View of the Golden Gate from Ft. Baker

Unknown to many people, there is an historic army post at the north end, the Marin side of the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s now a park within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

The views of the bridge from this fort are spectacular. I was able to see the bridge from a whole different aspect.  The summer day was warm.  The sky was full.  Beautiful clouds hovered over the bay and this old barrack provided a nice focus against a perfectly composed Golden Gate in the background.
