Spring on Vargas Plateau

On a hike on this plateau on a beautiful spring day, I came upon this group of purple and yellow wildflowers.  It was on a small hill and the path I was on curled around like an “S” behind me. Everything was lush and green and lovely and this scene warmly invited me in. I wanted to share what I saw so others may be invited in as well.

The painting began with a purple background. I then painted over the purple letting parts of it show through. Purple being the compliment to yellow provides a balanced yet energetic feel.
