Lavender Field at Dawn

Sunrise, the start of a fresh day, is a magical time for me. The cool, crisp air - the radiant colors changing as the brightness of the rising sun warms the sky and lightens the tops of the hills and trees.

And the fringe benefit is to be in front of a lavender farm with the array of purples changing and glowing as the sun creeps over the golden hill.

Because of the dominance of the sky, the rising bright yellow sun and the dancing purples of the lavender, I chose to print this on a solid purple background.  I painted over the purple letting parts of it show through. Purple being the compliment to yellow provided a balanced yet energetic feel.
